Arrival/Check-in: At check-in, I was informed that my room was still occupied, so the hotel offered me full use of another room until mine was ready. As soon as the other occupant checked out - later than originally promised - it was rush cleaned. I was out of the hotel when the suite became available. When I returned, my luggage was moved into my suite and my jeans, which had gotten wet along the bottoms, hung to dry. (19/20)

Guest Quarters: My room was a junior suite, one of nine in the hotel and one of four with a balcony Jacuzzi. It had a sitting area, ample workspace (Internet access was available for a small daily fee), a bedroom with a comfortable king-sized bed, and a luxurious marble bathroom stocked with Pantene hair products and Caswell-Massey shower gel. There also was a minibar and I was given the option of receiving early-morning delivery of USA Today and The Wall Street Journal. The balcony was large and the sights were impressive, with views of both the mountains and the ocean. (14/15)

Services/Amenities: The hotel offered two places to eat. Perla Restaurant is full-service, open for breakfast and dinner. The bar serves light food, lunch, and cocktails. I lunched here and the service was friendly and quick, with good food. My guest status at the hotel allowed me access to the complimentary continental breakfast, which was stocked with cheese, pastries and cereals. It was not extensive, but perfect for a light breakfast. Other amenities included a fully equipped 24-hour gym and a heated pool. The service was also very quick. When I realized that I no toothpaste, I called the concierge and within five minutes, it was at my door. To ensure safety, guests were required to swipe their room keys to operate the elevator. The Experience: the accommodations were comfortable and the staff friendly and accommodating. All in all, this was a great stay! (19/20)
